Review:
Despite the fact that it can be infuriatingly slow at times I am something of a fan of the Naruto anime series and came to this manga after I heard it was much better with less filler. I would have to agree with this as I have found this manga far more focused and easier to get into than the anime ever was. This first volume of the manga sees Naruto being trained and tested so that he can become a Ninja. The artwork is good while the plot itself is well written and quite funny. There are a few minor differences from the anime but these are easy to get use to and I am probably enjoying these early books more than I did the early anime episodes. Overall, although I have read better manga in the past, Naruto is nonetheless entertaining and definitely shows potential.
